The FLA is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its first remote Regulation Technology (RegTech) Conference in 2021.
The event will focus on how technology is influencing change in financial services – both in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and in supporting the economic recovery. As part of this, we will discuss some of the latest technological advancements to understand how these are impacting business models.
This includes established models from firms using ‘traditional’ systems, and also newer market entrants with no ‘legacy’ systems. The sessions will also consider how technology is being used across the customer journey – from underwriting decision making to collections & enforcement practices.
As the UK regulatory agenda continues to evolve, new rules and guidance are likely to be developed with technological advancements in mind – the impact of Covid-19 has amplified this. It is, therefore, essential that firms are prepared to adapt appropriately, particularly as it is clear that the current pace of change will not dissipate.
However, these challenges have also allowed for the financial services industry to explore new and innovative ideas, and it is inevitable that some of these advancements will revolutionise what is known as the ‘ordinary course of business’.
